This unit serves a very limited but equally important role in serving the Blackstone and surrounding community. This unit is utilized to shuttle essential fire fighting water from a fill site to a fire scene where it then dumps its tank load of water in a portable tank (looks like a above ground swimming pool) where the water can be used to fight the fire while this unit returns to the fill site so that it may repeat (along with other mutual aide tankers if needed) the process until the fire is extinguished. This unit is mostly used in the rural areas outside of town but can be used in town in the case of a water system failure in the town or if the another event arises where water is not readily available from a fire hydrant. This unit also is frequently called upon to assist on mutual aide fire calls in the county by other surrounding agencies.
Designation changed in 2023 to comply with county numbering system from Tanker 7 to Tanker 6.
