In efforts to support a fire safe community, the Blackstone Volunteer Fire Department will install a free smoke detector to households within our response area. According to the National Fire Protection Association:
- Three out of five home fire deaths result from fires in properties without working smoke alarms
- More than one-third (38 percent) of home fire deaths result from fires in which no smoke alarms are present.
- The risk of dying in a home fire is cut in half in homes with working smoke alarms.
- Why take this risk? If you would like us to install a free detector in your home, please fill out the form below. Smoke detectors are only provided to residence within our fire district. If you are uncertain, please still fill out the request and we will do our best to direct your request to the correct agency. We also do not provide smoke detectors for businesses, only residential units. Due to limited funding we can only supply a limited amount of smoke detectors.
